Description

A delightful Italian pasta dish that combines garlic, olive oil, and succulent shrimp for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until shrimp is pink and opaque.
  4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with shrimp and garlic, along with the reserved pasta water, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley and optionally sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust spice level by varying the amount of red pepper flakes.
